By All Accounts it Was a Good Meeting
If you missed the Club meeting last night you missed a good one. There was an excellent turnout and the treats were fantastic. Donna Miller is looking for treat volunteers for upcoming meetings.
Denis Miller called the meeting to order at 7:00PM. There were four new members or visitors in attendance. We are glad to have had these members and visitors at our meeting.
Kathie Dalton, our Show Chair, gave a report regarding the upcoming April Show. She reported that planning was progressing well with respect to the reservation of tables, dinner planning, lunch arrangements, scheduling of demonstrations, and other housekeeping tasks. Kathie did ask for volunteers to help with the Show setup and take down. She also said that raffle and auction items are welcome at any time.
With respect to the planned demonstrations Kathie asked for volunteers to present short demos at the Show. Bob Curtis volunteered to give a presentation about Cottonwood bark and Don Fromherz volunteered to give a demo about transferring patterns. If you want to give a short demonstration at the Show please let Kathie know.
Reed Barker gave the Treasurer's Report which was accepted unanimously by the members present. Barb Fromherz presented the minutes of the last meeting which were accepted unanimously by the members present.
The Show and Tell carvings were outstanding. What great talent we have in our Club. Items on display were from:
Great job everyone. We are hoping to see more of your excellent carvings at our April show.
Denis Miller, Everett Koontz, and Everett Carter gave an excellent presentation and demonstrations of tool sharpening. I, and I think everyone in attendance learned something from their demonstrations.
There was an excellent wood draw with many participants. Jim Boatner, with the help of Dave Hunter, made sure everyone had a chance to leave with some good items.
Denis Miller adjourned the meeting
