It is Capitol Woodcarvers privilege and distinct pleasure to honor Denis Miller as our Featured Carver for 2024. Denis is an accomplished and recognized carver, and valued member of Capitol Woodcarvers.

Denis is a past club president and he continues to volunteer in support of our club.

Denis is this year's Show Committee Chair. He also volunteers his time and effort supporting "Empty Bowls", a charitable event where carved spoons are donated by our members to help those in need.

Denis is also a dedicated volunteer at the Salem Carousel where he has carved or participated in carving many animals. This work is appreciated by the community and it is a pleasure to see visiting childrens' faces light up when they see the carvings created by Denis and other volunteers.

Denis values his membership in Capitol Woodcarvers which is made up of so many talented artists. The club provides fellowship, a way to share skills, ideas, and as the club mission states, a means to…” Preserve the art of woodcarving and encourage and stimulate new carvers.”
