More From The Coastal Carvers Show

Another report from the Coastal Carvers Show this past weekend. The show was well attended both Saturday and Sunday. It was a great show with amazing wood carvings on display.

Bob Curtis conducted a Tiny Cottonwood Whimsical House class. The class went well and although no one completed the house during the two hour class, the carving process and many hints were passed on to attendees.

Everett Koontz conducted a Kids Carving class and an adult Spoon Carving class. Everett's students learned details regarding carving a spoon during the one hour class. And again, no one completed the spoon but everyone got a good start and enough information to complete the project at home.

Thank you Bob and Everett for representing our Club at the show.

Don Fromherz, our Club President, is an outstanding carver who often carves realistic wildfowl and caricatures. His carvings are very well done showing expert application of superior carving skills. Don outdid himself at the show. He carved a name tag and entered it into the Will Hayden Memorial Name Tag Contest. His name tag carving won a second place award. We can only speculate as to how large the ribbon would have been if he entered a full size eagle or other large carving.

Congratulations Don!
