Capitol Woodcarvers at the Fair

The 2018 Marion County Fair is over. It was a long four days but it was fun.

Several people expressed interest in our Club and what we have to offer. I think we may see some new carvers at least come check us out at classes. It will be nice to see these new carvers and hopefully they will join us.

Several people we know and their families stopped by to say hello. It was nice to see Tom Ham's daughter and son-in-law. Mardean King came by and talked with us for a while as did an old co-worker of Dee Koontz. It is always nice to see old and recent friends at these events.

A big "thank you" goes out to all who volunteered to sit at our booth demonstrating carving and displaying their works of art. Each of the volunteers received much deserved praise from visitors. Volunteers included:

  • Jim Boatner
  • Ken Lake
  • Bob Harris
  • Judy Barker
  • Reed Barker
  • Janice Besing
  • Mary Davis
  • Don Currey
  • Denis Miller
  • Donna Miller
  • Kathie Dalton
  • Fritz Krussow
  • Jim Harris
  • Bob Lanning
  • Jack Dalton

Thank you all very much. Without you we would not have been able to participate in the fair.
