Last Evening's Meeting
Denis Miller opened the meeting at 7:00PM. There were 2 new members present.
Lou Wakefield recognized and thanked Jack Dalton and Bob Curtis for the work they do on behalf of the Club.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read by Laurie Ladd and approved by those present. The treasurer's report was read by Reed Barker and approved by those present.
Everett Koontz reported a scheduling conflict between the Marion County Fair and Ellensburg. Volunteers stepped up to take over the organization of the Marion County Fair in the absence of Everett.
Show and Tell was conducted by Bob Curtis. On display were carvings/items from:
Chris and Glen from the Meterite Camera Club presented a very informative program on photographing carvings. They discussed, demonstrated, and answered questions about cameras, lenses, tripods, lighting, and other miscellaneous subjects. They demonstrated, using one of our carvings, how to use LightRoom and PhotoShop to record and enhance an image through filtering, hue, and shadow manipulation. They also discussed some alternative tools to perform similar tasks.
The Camera Club also invited us to participate with them in having our carvings photographed by their members at one of their meetings. Several carvers expressed interest and we will be planning this event.
Thank you Chris and Glen for the very informative presentation.
Jim Boatner conducted the wood draw which contained items from Dave Disselbrett and Dale Crawford.
The treats were very good and once again we enjoyed ice cream from Barbara Millikan.
Denis Miller adjourned the meeting at 8:45PM.
